What is the process to obtain a driving license ?
Someone has first to register at a driving school that is accredited by the AQTR, in order to begin phase I of the theoretical course. At the end of the phase I, the student performs a written test at the school. On the succeed of that test, the school will grant a success certificate of phase I.
The student can then ask for a learner's permit at the SAAQ and continue the other 3 phases which include 15 hours of practice alternated by theoretical courses.
10 months after the issue of the learner's permit, the student will perform another theoretical examination at the SAAQ provided that he ended at least the theoretical part of his driving course and 2 months later, the practical examination might also be done at the SAAQ in order to obtain a probationary licence.
This probationary licence will have a duration of 2 years.
